Via Carducci - L Apartment
Pistoia, Italy - 2024
Located on the top floor of a historic building in the old town of Pistoia, this apartment redefines its original spatial configuration through a careful and incisive renovation. The intervention introduces substantial modifications to both the existing structure and the external openings, enhancing the dialogue between interior and exterior spaces, with particular emphasis on the east-facing loggia and solarium. A restrained material palette characterizes the interiors: walls and ceilings are finished in white plaster, while continuous oak planks extend across the flooring and rise vertically to envelop the kitchen wall, establishing it as the central organizing element of the living area. Natural light plays a primary role in shaping the atmosphere—filtering deep into the spaces, it interacts with surfaces and volumes, generating a dynamic interplay of light and shadow that evolves throughout the day.
