Nuovo complesso scolastico
Montale (PT), Italy - 2008
A project with an elementary form, extracted from memories of games or movements in nature, stretches over the indistinct plain and confronts itself with the great mass of the hills behind it, drawing colors and variations; only the trees and the light interrupt the profile and cross it, while a mantle of wooded lawn accompanies the children as they enter the school. The project seeks a dialogue with the residual topographies of the place, with the signs of the territory as the land subdivisions and cultivations, in an effort to re-establish a principle of settlement order. Some courts open in the volume, bringing the green inside the building, looking for a continuity between interior and exterior, between construction and vegetation, between artifice and nature, which embodies the character of the place and the school.
